Turf Disease Diagnostic Lab
The Turf Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Rhode Island provides disease diagnosis and management recommendations to aid turf professionals responsible for intensively managed turf systems. The fee for these services can be found on our Fee Schedule page. We also regularly accept samples from commercial lawn care companies and sod growers. In Rhode Island, the Cooperative Extension Service handles homeowner samples. However, the RICE Center does not provide disease diagnosis on turf. Because of this, The Turf Disease Diagnosis Lab will accept homeowner samples for a fee. Most problems on home lawns do not stem from disease but a number of other factors, however. Before homeowners send a sample, please consult our links page for home lawn management information. A submission form must accompany all samples.
